The social work program at Concord University is designed to utilize the strengths of the liberal arts perspective with emphasis on an interdisciplinary curriculum.

The primary mission of the social work program is to prepare graduates for baccalaureate level, generalist, professional social work practice in a variety of settings with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. To accomplish this, the social work program bases its curriculum upon a liberal arts perspective and the professional social work foundation.

The professional social work foundation includes content on social work values and ethics, diversity, social and economic justice, populations-at-risk; human behavior and the social environment, social welfare policy and services, social work practice, research, and field practicum. These content areas are fully integrated into the sum total of the social work student's academic experience.

The Concord University Social Work Program has been accredited for over 30 years by the Council on Social Work Education.
