Concord University and the Social Work Department appreciate our location in West Virginia, as it is the only state completely contained within Appalachia. We provide access for our students to a quality education, an opportunity for scholarships, interesting volunteer experiences, community research, and supervised field placements. We also want to provide information to the community about workshops or events that may empower people; that may help others to understand our heritage and culture; to encourage discussion of women's issues; and many more topics pertinent to Appalachian-Americans.
