Project
Dr. Gabriel Rieger has been employed at Concord University as a professor of Medieval and Renaissance literature since August of 2008. He is the author of
Sex and Satiric Tragedy
in Early Modern Literature: Penetrating Wit, published through Ashgate Publishing in 2009, as well as articles in journals including
Early Modern Literary Studies and The Upstart Crow:
A Shakespeare Journal. Dr. Rieger’s research interests include Shakespeare, Thomas Middleton, early modern literature and cultural studies with a particular emphasis on Jacobean tragedy,
as well as gothic literature and the horror story.
Dr. Rieger currently serves as faculty advisor to the Concord University Newman Club and Executive Project Director of the Appalachian Shakespeare Project at Concord University. He resides in Athens,
West Virginia with his wife and daughter.
Erin is in the process of earning her Ph.D. in Theatre History and Performance Studies. She has presented at several conferences and has co-authored a book chapter (with Marisha Caswell of
Queen's University, Ontario), forthcoming in the anthology "Women who Murder." Erin maintains a presence in professional theatre work by teaching youth workshops in playwriting, character
development, and auditioning, and directing fully realized productions for youth theatres and undergraduate groups. Additionally, she has been in administrative positions in both the finance
industry and the college environment.
