Dr. Alexander completed her bachelor's degree at Hendrix
College in Conway, Arkansas, and completed her master's
and doctoral degrees at Emory University, in the
Cognition and Development program in the Psychology
Department. She is interested in research questions of
the perception and production of spoken language,
including issues of how we learn to understand those who
speak differently from us and how the forms of words
interact with their meaning. Her teaching interests
include courses on the biological basis of behavior,
human cognition and development, and the psychology of
language.
