 Symphonic Band (MUS 453)

The Concord University Symphonic Band is a large wind and percussion ensemble, which performs standard and modern literature. This ensemble meets each Spring semester, and performs one to two concerts.  Symphonic Band regularly features guest artists; recent artists include Denis Askew on Tuba and Ed Bach on Trumpet.
Members of the ensemble represent a wide variety of interests and areas of study.  Any Concord student regardless of major is welcome to audition.

The Concord Commanders (MUS 454)

The Commanders is Concord's select jazz ensemble. This ensemble meets both Fall and Spring semesters.  A traditional big band ensemble, the Commanders perform a variety of music from swing to modern jazz compositions. The band performs several concerts annually, including at the Greenbrier Resort in Lewisburg, WV.  In addition, the Commanders travel to various public schools throughout Virginia and West Virginia, representing Concord University and the music department.  




Marching Band

The Concord University Marching Band performs at all home football games and select away games. The band participates in many parades throughout the year, and is the featured band at the annual Manassas, VA Christmas Parade. The band recently received $40,000 in new marching instruments and brand new uniforms.
