To receive extra credit for viewing this Symposium, students will prepare a one-page report describing the presentation’s contents.
The beginning of the report should include your name, academic status (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior), the last 4 digits of your social security number and a list of the instructors to notify of your submission.
If summarizing an experienced business person’s presentation: The report should list the presenter’s name, industry and company affiliations and professional position/s. It should describe the presenter’s career, responsibilities, and the issues she/he discusses at the Symposium. There should be a description of how this presentation was relevant to the writer’s course material. If the presentation was helpful, in what way can the information be used by the student?
If summarizing an internship report: The report should describe how the internship was secured, a brief summary of the organization’s history and description of its products and/or services. There should also be a summary of the issues that the intern encountered and solutions they were able to offer the organization. There should be a description of how this presentation was relevant to the writer’s course material.
Any concluding statements that the writer feels would be appropriate should be made here. Comments about ways in which the Division of Business can improve the symposia experience can also be offered.
