Pam is a graduate of Bluefield State College
with a B.S. Degree in Education. She graduated from Marshall University
with a M.A. in Counseling. She taught in the public
school systems for several years prior to working as a WVU Extension
Agent for eight
years. She spent two years working as a social worker and another year as
a Counselor for the Upward Bound Program. She retired from the US Army
Reserve in 1996 as a Major with 21 years of reserve service. She has
served as the Director of the Upward Bound program since 1996 and enjoys
working with the students and the families. She is a wife, mother of four
children, and grandmother of five. Pam was raised in a low-income family
and is the first in her family to obtain a college degree. She would have
qualified for TRIO as a student. Education is the key to a better life! |

| Barbara
Rush - Director of Upward Bound Outreach Program |

Barbara Rush grew up in Clintonville, WV on a Greenbrier County
farm. She began college in the Fall of 1987 as a non-traditional student.
She was a member of the Concord College Student Support Services TRIO program
during college. In 1990 she graduated from Concord College with a Bachelors in
Business Administration with a concentration in Management. The summer she
graduated, she then went
to work for Concord College as the Resident Director of Wilson Hall. She
started working on her Masters, taking one or two classes a semester, as her job would
allow. She then accepted the position of Program Assistant for Upward Bound in
December 1994, and continued working on her Masters. She graduated with a
Masters of Science in Management in May 1996. She was promoted to
the
position of Educational Outreach Counselor for Upward Bound in February
1999. She enjoys working with students and being involved in helping
promote higher education. Barbara regards going to college and the pursuit
of higher education as one of the best
life decisions that she made. |

Michael was born and raised in Eckman, WV. He attended and graduated from Mount View High School in 1994. During his time at Mount View he became affiliated with the Upward Bound Program at Concord College. The program and the people who ran it proved to be a valuable asset, he obtained the insight and support that he needed to propel him into the college atmosphere. He received a B.A. in Social Sciences in 1999 from Concord College and a Masters of Science in Strategic Leadership Studies from Mountain State University in August 2006. He returned to the "Campus Beautiful" to hopefully give back all of the great advice, educational support, and good times that was given to him and it is reflected every time he hears one of the fine young men and women he works with say "I can". |

| Katrina Matney - Educational Outreach Counselor |

Katrina graduated from Iaeger High School as Salutatorian in 2006. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Concord University in 2010. She received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marshall University in August of 2012. Katrina was the first person in her family to obtain a college degree. While a student at Concord University, she participated in Student Support Services as an academic tutor for 3 years and she was a participant in the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program. Katrina gladly accepted her dream job with Upward Bound and she hopes to encourage and motivate students as they work towards achieving their dreams. Katrina now resides in Princeton, West Virginia with her husband Jason and cat Buddy. |

| Melissa Buckland - Grants Resources Associate |

Melissa has been working as the Grants Resources Associate since October 2002. She started working for Upward Bound in February 1999 as the Program Assistant. She has worked at Concord College since 1995. She was the Resident Director of Wilson Hall before coming to Upward Bound. She graduated form Concord College in December 1992 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and a minor in Travel Industry. She currently lives in Forest Hill, WV. |

Sabrina is a McDowell County native and was raised in Twin Branch Hollow, West Virginia. She is the first person in her family to graduate high school and the first to receive a bachelor’s degree. Sabrina believes education and helping others are crucial keys to success. While in high school, she was an active participant in Upward Bound. She graduated from Concord University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Social Work degree. She has volunteered with Upward Bound since 2005. Sabrina now resides in Athens, West Virginia with her husband Garrett, 2 dogs Lucky & Ellie-Mae, and cat Juliette. |
