    A work study student is needed in the Counseling center. Duties include answering phones, making appointments, and other duties as assigned.  Must have strong communication skills and confidentiality is critical.  If interested, please contact Sandy Grim at 5221 or  stop by the Counseling Center located in the Bonner House.

     

    08-30-10 Federal Work Study Students - CU Fitness Center

    There are work study jobs available in the Concord University Fitness Center. Fitness Center is open: Monday-Friday: 6 am-11 pm; Saturday: Noon-6 pm; and Sunday: Noon-11pm.  Anyone who has federal work study and would be interested in a job at the fitness center please email Jason Woodman at coachwoodman@concord.edu.

    8-20-10 Lifeguard Jobs/Training

    Looking for a job on campus?  The Concord University Pool is hiring certified  lifeguards for the fall semester.  We are also hosting a lifeguard certification course for those who would like to lifeguard, but lack certification.  Work study is not required, but welcomed.  If you are a certified lifeguard or are interested in becoming certified, please join us in the Rahall Center Atrium on Tuesday, August 24th at 3:00p for an informational meeting.  Academic credit for the certification is pending.

    PLEASE NOTE: The certification course is capped at 10 students.

     

    8-20-10  Physics Lab Assistant

    Student is needed to assist with setting up equipment for physics laboratory courses.  Duties include checking equipment to make sure it is in working condition and helping to put equipment away after laboratory exercises.  The student must have taken PHYS 101 and 102 or 201 and 202 with a grade of C or better.  Preferred times for student availability are one or more of the following: Friday mornings, Monday and/or Friday afternoons.  If interested, please contact Timothy Corrigan at 304-384-5327 or email tcorrigan@concord.edu.

    8-17-10 Work Study/State Monies - Telecounselors in the Admissions Office

    The Admissions Office is looking for 10 students to serve as Telecounselors. Must be a Sophomore or above and possess good telephone etiquette skills, a positive, happy and upbeat attitude.  Will be "selling" Concord on the phone so must have an extensive working knowledge of what Concord Offers.  Contact Andrea Tabor in the Admissions Office if interested.

    The Huffington Post is looking for contributors to cover Congressional candidates Mike Oliverio and Nick Rahall.  You would be attending town hall meetings, stump speeches and following a Congressman or Senator on the campaign trail.  This is a fantastic way to get clips on the site and to break news.  To be considered for the position, we need an emailing containing three pieces of information: 1) Where you live; 2) Why you are qualified for the position, 2 paragraphs on relevant experience, resume, etc.; and 3) clips.  Please specify which candidate you are interested in covering.     Required Skills: Function as office receptionist and help center for students and faculty. Must maintain professionalism of Division Office at all times, perform general clerical duties, run on-campus errands, deliver and collect Division mail at Student Center, and perform other tasks within capabilities as requested. Specifically, be punctual and professional; answer phone, take messages, transfer calls, etc.; respond to questions/concerns of faculty and students; make copies; occasionally type memoranda and letters, research on-line, etc.
    Required Hours: 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm must be covered by one or both positions for Monday-Friday. Additional hours may be worked between 8:00 am - 7:00 pm.
    Number of Hours/Week Preferred: 8-10 hours per week total coverage with 2 students. More if students' funding allows.
